2022 Radda Rise International String Competition
9-year-old violinist Clare Seo received a violin as a present on her first birthday, which sparked an interest in music lessons when she became old enough. She began violin studies at 3.5 years old with Susanna Brakhman. She has been studying with her current teacher Julie Becker for the past three years.
At a young age, Clare has already been recognized for her outstanding performances. In 2019, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall in the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Awards of Excellence Recital, where she performed Baklanova’s Mazurka. In 2021, she participated in the Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program and was the U.S. Gold Medalist for Level 4 Strings in the Northeast Region. Most recently, she has been a prize winner at various international music competitions: 2022 Quebec International Music Competition (gold medal), 2022 Young Maestro International Competition (silver medal) and North American Virtuoso International Music Competition (silver medal).
Clare has an immense love for violin and performance. Her future goals are to participate in prestigious music festivals and meet with world famous musicians. Aside from music, Clare enjoys jazz dancing and playing tennis.
