French-American cellist Ayman Bourar (b. 2012) began playing the cello when he was six years old, two years after he started piano lessons. He currently studies with Andrew Rammon.

Ayman is an active soloist and regularly performs in national and international competitions. He is the assistant principal cellist in their second most advanced ensemble, and he also performs in a select chamber ensemble comprised of the most advanced students in the program. In the past, Ayman has been involved with other local youth orchestras including Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras and the National Philharmonic Junior Summer Institute ensemble. Outside of these programs, Ayman enjoys playing chamber music with his friends, and in 2021, he participated in the Point CounterPoint’s Prelude chamber music program. In July 2022, he traveled to Alsace, France to attend MusicAlta’s summer academy.

Outside of music, Ayman likes to swim, bike, ski, go on nature hikes, draw, and read.
