12-year-old violinist Clare Seo began her journey of music at the age of 4 with Susanna Brakhman. She has been studying with her current teacher Julie Becker for the past 6 years and participating in Summer Chamber Music Intensive led by Eileen Buck for the past 2 years.
At young ages, Clare has already been recognized for her outstanding performances. In 2019, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall in the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Awards of Excellence Recital, where she performed Baklanova’s Mazurka. In 2021, she participated in the Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program and was the U.S. Gold Medalist for Level 4 Strings in the Northeast Region. She has been a prize winner at various international music competitions: 2022 Quebec International Music Competition (gold medal), 2022 Young Maestro International Competition (silver medal), 2022 North American Virtuoso International Music Competition (silver medal), 2022 Radda Rise International String Competition (first prize - category 1) and 2023 New York International Virtuoso Competition (second prize - ensemble division).
Clare has immense love for violin and stage performance. She dreams of participating in prestigious music festivals and meeting with famous musicians around the world. Aside from music, Clare is a competitive tennis player and trains hard to play at USTA junior tournaments year around.
