Yueqi Wang

Yueqi Wang, born in 2012 in Qingdao, Shandong, China, began playing the violin at the age of five. Over the past seven years, her dedication and passion for the instrument have led her to achieve notable success on both national and international stages. She is currently a Grade 7 student at The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, where she continues to refine her craft under the guidance of her teachers, Boyang Wang, with whom she has studied for three years, and Li Xiong, for four years.

Yueqi has been recognized with numerous accolades, including First Prize in the Children’s A Group of the 10th Hong Kong International Violin Competition and First Prize at the Sino-Singapore International Music Competition in Singapore. In 2021, she was awarded Second Prize in the Violin B1 Group at the Midwest and West International Music Competition, and in 2020, she secured a Gold Medal in the Children’s Group at the Utah Music Festival and International Music Competition.

Her performance highlights include appearances at prominent venues such as the Xinghai Concert Hall, where she performed Butterfly Lovers' Violin Concerto as a special guest for a concert organized by the Guangdong Musicians Association, a performance broadcast on national television. In 2022, she also performed Harvest Fishing Song at the same venue as part of a concert hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Association of Musicians. Her earlier performances include a 2019 appearance at a special event organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Federation of Literature and Art, where she performed Schindler’s List, and participation in the Guangzhou Women’s Federation’s Spring Festival Concert in 2021.

Yueqi’s love for the violin is matched by her enjoyment of anime and drawing, which provide creative outlets outside of music. With aspirations of becoming a soloist, Yueqi’s musical journey is driven by her love of performance and her goal to share her passion with audiences worldwide.
