Doğuş Ergin

Doğuş Ergin, a highly accomplished cellist, was born in Ankara, Turkey. He began his formal cello education at the Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts. Doğuş further honed his craft at the Conservatory of Cologne under Claus Kanngiesser and at the Conservatory of Saar with Gustav Rivinius, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in cello performance. During this time, his studies were enriched by participation in masterclasses with world-renowned cellists Robert Cohen and Natalia Gutman in Italy.

Doğuş has established himself as a respected performer, making his debut with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. He has given recitals organized by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now and has performed as a soloist in prestigious venues across Turkey and Europe.

His competition achievements are equally impressive, having won 1st prize at the Mersin State Conservatory National Violoncello Competition, 3rd prize at the Antonio Janigro International Violoncello Competition, and 2nd prize at the Liezen International Violoncello Competition.

Doğuş’s performances extend beyond solo recitals. He has played at the 2nd Fethiye Classical Music Festival and has appeared as a soloist with several major symphony orchestras in Turkey, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and accomplished musician. He also served as an academist with the prestigious NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg, Germany.

Currently, Doğuş is a member of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Ankara.
