David started his musical studies in the year of 2006, at 13 years of age, in the Academy for Music of Costa Cabral (AMCC) - Oporto - a student of Prof. Cândida Oliveira. Finishing in in 2014, David proceeded his studies with Prof. Victor Pereira (2015 - 2017).

Took part in Masterclasses with clarinetists of international notoriety such as Alain Damiens, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Ettienne Lamaison, Juan Ferrer, Pascual Martinez, António Saiote, among other renowned figures of the instrument.

Participated in various courses for Wind Band and Symphonic Orchestra performance, having had the opportunity to be directed under the baton of António Saiote, José Pascual Villaplana, Rafa Agulló-Albors, José Eduardo Gomes and Ernst Schell.

Over the course of his studies, having participated in woodwind competitions, is the laureate recipient of:

- 3rd Prize - 3rd Edition of the Musical Olympics (Internal Competition, AMCC), 2009 | Porto;

- 3rd Prize - I National Competition “Sons de Cabral’’ (Category 4 – Junior), 2013 | Belmonte;

- 2nd Prize - III National Competition “Sons de Cabral” (Category 5 – Senior), 2015 | Belmonte

Devoted to exert a diligent artistic activity - as a Recitalist, Soloist and with the most diverse Chamber Ensembles - David as played in halls of relevance such as Suggia Room Oporto Casa da Música, Oporto Coliseum Concert Hall, Soares dos Reis Museum and the Trinity Theatre.

Regarding the orchestral spectrum, is an associate member - Principal Clarinet - of the Oporto Chamber Orchestra. In 2016 and again in 2017, David presents himself solo with the Northern Orchestra (Portugal) with Copland’s Clarinet Concerto.

In 2018, with the Esmoriz Mandolin Orchestra, premiers the piece “Fantaisie, for Clarinet and Plectrum Orchestra” by Luís Sá.

Also in 2018, takes part in the recording of the album “Chamber Music for Trio” - Clarinet, Cello and Piano - comprised of works by Brahms and Fauré. In this same album, he was also in charge of the Recording, Editing and Mastering. In 2019, with the “Opera at the Academy and the City” Orchestra, played Gerald Finzi’s Clarinet Concerto.

As a teacher, David has taught at the Bairros School of Music, Castelo de Paiva (2016 - 2018) and, currently, at the Paço de Sousa School of Music, Penafiel.

Parallel to his musical practice, David also holds a Licentiate Degree in Audiovisuals.
