Born in Guatemala City with degrees from universities in Costa Rica, the United States and Germany, Estuardo Hernández has had a diverse and multicultural musical education that has given him a unique perspective on different schools of playing and teaching. He completed a Bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the Texas Christian University, and is currently finishing a Master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy at the Martin-Luther Universität in Germany. Hernández has studied under the guidance of Zoila Luz García Salas, Dr. Alexandr Sklioutovski, Dr. Tamás Ungár, and Prof. Marco Almeida. During his career, he also received instruction from renowned pedagogues such as Grigory Gruzman, Tatiana Zelikman, and Yoheved Kaplinsky.

Estuardo Hernández has been awarded with several prizes at competitions in Guatemala, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and the United States. His performances have included appearances in the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York, the Bass Hall in Fort Worth, and several other venues in Costa Rica, the United States, Germany, Italy, and Israel. He participated as a soloist with the Yucatán Symphony Orquestra in Mexico and the Orquesta Festival in Guatemala and was also a member of the TCU Wind Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, he was named “The Artist of the Year” in his native country Guatemala. In 2012, he participated in the recording of the CD Jóvenes Promesas sponsored by Eureka Comunicaciones.

Currently Estuardo Hernandez resides in Germany and maintains an active schedule as a performer, accompanist, and pedagogue. Additionally, he is the founder of the e-learning platform ¿Quieres ser Pianista? that is dedicated to providing high-level piano instruction to Spanish speakers.
