In 2019, Isabel, a NYC-based pianist, won two international competitions in China: the ROXE MTSY International Music Competition in Xian and BIMFA Solo Piano Competition in Beijing. She’s also been a prize winner in the International Young Artist Competition in D.C., the Fite Family Piano Competition, Sigma Alpha Iota Competition, K.C. Musical Club Competition, and KMTA Collegiate Auditions. She’s played as a soloist with the Orquesta de la Universidad de Alicante of Spain, and the Heritage Philharmonic Orchestra of Missouri. She’s performed at a variety of international concert venues, including Teatro Pavone of Perugia, Italy; Xian Concert Hall in Xian, China; RUC Concert Hall in Beijing, China; Opera America and The International House in NYC; Lied Center in Lawrence, Kansas, among others.
Isabel has found teaching piano lessons to beginner, intermediate and advanced students of all ages to be a fun and valuable addition to her own studies for the past eight years. She aspires to bring new concepts into focus and spark the joy of music for every student, as her teachers have done for her. Isabel recently completed a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance at Mannes School of Music – The New School under the direction of Dr. Vladimir Valjarevic, where she was awarded a Teaching Fellowship. She received her Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and certificate in Entrepreneurship from KU School of Music studying with department chair Dr. Jack Winerock.
